BC Hockey will host its home- and home-road series with the Canadian Hockey League starting with games against the Ottawa Senators at TD Place Stadium on Nov. 23.
The series will be the first in the new Canadian Hockey Association, which is set to open in 2019.
The BC Lions, who play the Ottawa 67ers at the TD Place stadium on Oct. 10, are scheduled to host the Ottawa 66ers at 6 p.m. on Oct the 17.
The Lions are currently tied for first place in the East Division.
The last time the Lions faced the Ottawa 76ers was on Dec. 12, 2015, a 2-1 win for the team that defeated the BC Lions 5-2 in Ottawa.
“The two-game series is our third for our two teams, and it’s an opportunity to get a better understanding of what each team is capable of doing,” said Vancouver general manager Mike Condon.
“We are excited to start this series against the two best teams in the league.”
In addition to the two games, the teams will face each other in the quarterfinals of the 2017 Honda NHL All-Star Classic.
The two teams are tied with the Chicago Blackhawks in the lead in points at 4,823, but have lost two of their last three meetings.
The Bruins, who host the Calgary Flames on Saturday, are tied for third in the Central Division with 4,633 points.
The Flames have won five of their past six games against BC, which won three of the last five.
“This is going to be an important series for us as we go into the next season, and we’re going to have to take advantage of the opportunity,” said goaltender Jake Guentzel, who is fourth in the AHL with 20 wins and tied for fifth with a 2.48 goals-against average and .914 save percentage.
Guentsel, who has been with the team for three years, will be joined by the other two goalies, Matt Murray and Ryan Miller.
The teams will be separated by about two minutes and eight seconds.
BC has won four straight against Ottawa, winning all four meetings in Ottawa and three in Calgary.
BC is 1-0-1 against the NHL All Stars, including a 3-0 win over Edmonton last month.
The NHL All Star Classic will be played March 3-7 in Sunrise, Fla.
