MICHIGAN HEAT forward Zach Bogosian and his Michigan hockey team will play a game against Florida Panthers defenseman Alex Goligoski and the Michigan Ice Hockey Club in New York City on Jan. 29.
The game will be a special pre-season event, as Michigan is the only American Hockey League team to have played in the inaugural game.
The game will also feature NHL players and players from the AHL.
The Michigan Ice Club will play against the New York Rangers and the Philadelphia Flyers on Jan 15, 2018.
Michigan and the NHL have played just once before, in the 2013 All-American game in Boston, where Michigan won 4-3.
The NHL All Star Game is the culmination of a six-year, $2 billion initiative in which the league has played in 23 cities in all, and hosted nearly a million fans.
Michigan and the AHL are the only two teams to have been invited to the game.
