Hockey background is something of a buzzword these days, but for most people, hockey background is more of a nebulous idea than a specific concept.
That’s where the Spectors Hockey background project comes in.
It’s been a year since the NSW Blues took on the Greater Western Sydney Wanderers at the SCG, and it’s been an emotional rollercoaster for the players and the fans alike.
While some of the players will be celebrating in their home states, the fans will be focusing on the game in Sydney.
The team was ranked third on the NRL ladder last year, and that was despite the fact they had only just played a single match before the match.
The Blues have never won a premiership, and even after winning the grand final, they didn’t make the finals.
“The year has been a rollercoaceway of emotion for the guys,” Blues captain Matthew Kreuzer told the club’s website.
“We have had a number of setbacks along the way, and there’s no doubt we’ve had some really difficult times as a club and as a team.”
But we have found that in time, the more adversity we faced, the greater our resolve to keep fighting for a place in the finals and win the grand finals.
“So what happened in the year leading up to the grand slam?
In December, the Blues lost the grand Final to the Storm, and had their season put in the shade by the Kangaroos in the first round of the season.
The Blues were knocked out of the premiership by the Bulldogs, and they didn’ t even win the finals at home.
The loss came as a shock, but Blues coach Mick Potter said the club would not be satisfied with the result.”
I feel for the boys.
I feel for their families.
It’s a devastating loss for them.
We lost our grand final to the Kangaroo side, and the boys are devastated,” he said.”
And so it is a difficult situation for everyone to be in, but it is also a very difficult situation in that the club is on the road to the next grand final and I think for the club, it’s a very significant step.
“In addition to the loss, the team was also knocked out in the preliminary final by the Storm and by the Rabbitohs in Round 9, meaning they would have to play the Western Bulldogs in the final.”
They will go home and they will be sad for the family. “
The boys, I think, will be disappointed, because they will probably feel it a bit more.”
They will go home and they will be sad for the family.
They will feel a bit like they have been let down, but I think the boys will have to put on a brave face and fight for that chance to play in the grand, final and hopefully win the premiership.
“The project will see the Blues play four games at the Sydney Cricket Ground in the coming months.”
When you’ve been through that sort of thing, there are things you can’t control, but we are looking at what we can control and we are trying to be as supportive as we can be,” Kreuszer said.
