By now, most of you have been following the developments in the NHL playoffs and the NHLPA has released a statement about the state of the playoff race.
The statement says the NHL is in the middle of negotiations with the NHL, NHLPA, the league and the players’ union.
The statements say the league has not made any major changes to its plans for the 2019-20 season, including the expansion draft, the expansion of the postseason to three games, and adding a third weekend to the regular season.
The players’ association has also not made major changes, the statement says.
The league will continue to have an active relationship with the union through the 2018-19 season, the NHL said.
The NHLPA said it wants to see the playoffs continue in 2018-2019, but the league “does not have a commitment to make changes.”
The players union has called on the league to bring back the draft and to add another weekend of the regular-season to the schedule.
